Trademarks owned by Rocket Software, Inc.

The trademarks and service marks identified in the following list are the exclusive properties of Rocket Software, Inc. or its affiliates (collectively, “Rocket”). These marks are registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and may be registered or pending registration in other countries. Not all trademarks owned by Rocket are listed on this page. The absence of a mark from this page neither constitutes a waiver of any intellectual property rights that Rocket has established in its marks nor means that Rocket is not the owner of any such marks.

General rules for proper reference to Rocket trademarks and product names

• The first use of each registered Rocket® trademark mentioned in communications must be identified by a registration symbol ® as well as in a footnote or attribution. The attribution must be located either on the page/screen where the Rocket trademark is used, or in the legal section of the communication or site in which it is referenced.
  Example of the attribution/footnote: Rocket® is a trademark of Rocket Software, Inc. and its subsidiaries, registered in the United States and other jurisdictions worldwide.
   
• The first reference in text to all Rocket product names should be preceded by Rocket and followed by the trademark symbol ®.
  Examples: Rocket® API, Rocket® Model 204® high-performance database manager. Please note that rules for marking product names differ by country. You may need to seek guidance from a trademark professional.
   
• Always use name as an adjective qualifying a noun that is a generic description of the product or service. The product name should also be used in a singular form, unless a trademark itself is in plural or possessive form.
  Example: Rocket® API is a modernization tool for IBMi.
   
• Do not change the form or representation of the product name, including capitalization or punctuation.
  Example: Rocket® CorVu® software.
   
• Do not omit a footnote/attribution for Rocket trademarks.
   
• Do not alter the approved Rocket trademark.
   
• Do not create any new logo for Rocket or Rocket product names.
   
• Do not incorporate any Rocket product names into your company's product names.
   
• Do not incorporate any Rocket product names into the root domain of any website owned by your company.
   
• Do not misspell or use lower case letters when using the name “Rocket” in text.
   
• Do not use Rocket taglines.
   
• Do not connect your company name with Rocket product names.
   
• Do not use the Rocket trademark name for a product or service as a noun, or in the plural or possessive form.
   
• Do not misspell or incorrectly capitalize Rocket trademarks. Always include Rocket before any other trademarked Rocket name on the first usage.

Fair Use guidelines for use and reference of Rocket trademarks

Rocket trademarks include the graphic(s) and the word Rocket (as seen on this page) as well as other trademarks, logos, product, service names and designs owned by Rocket. Rocket takes great effort and care in the development and protection of its trademarks and reserves all rights of ownership of its trademarks.

"Fair use" of Rocket trademarks, that is, use by a third party without express permission or license, is limited to text-only references to Rocket trademarks such as product and service names, and excludes Rocket logos. In such references, you must be truthful, must not disparage Rocket, and must not mislead the public. You must be clear and accurate as to the nature of the relationship between Rocket and your company, its products, and its services.

Following are two common types of fair use:

• When you are specifically referring to Rocket products.
  Example: “…using Rocket® Discover, users in a team can immediately share ideas and data visualizations with one another.”
   
• When you are indicating that a Rocket product is compatible with another product.
  Example: “Product X is built on the Rocket® UniVerse® platform.”

Please note that the emphasis should be on your product name and any accompanying packaging produced by your company. Labeling should place emphasis on your product name so that it is perceived as an application, developed with, compatible with, or running with a Rocket product.

Use of Rocket logos

Rocket carefully limits the use of its logos. No other company may use Rocket logos unless it has the express written permission of Rocket or is licensed by Rocket to do so.

Use of "Rocket" as a company name.

"Rocket" is both a trademark of Rocket Software, Inc. as well as a company name. When "Rocket" is used to identify the company Rocket Software, Inc., it is called a trade name. Trade name usage typically applies when referring to a company as opposed to a particular product. It is permissible to use Rocket as a possessive if you are referring to Rocket the company. In that case, the name does not identify goods or services (which are legally the domain of trademarks).
